Wedding Photography Stock’s Manor Mechanicsburg

Dani & Rob got married at Stock’s Manor in late April. It was a beautiful day, clear skies and sunny. An excellent venue, with a fairly large house and tent for semi outside activities. We captured some excellent photographs throughout the day. We even did a photo booth, and the guests really liked the prints. Most people must not be familiar with quality photos. One guest mentioned that it was the best photo of him and his wife in years. And these are my photo booth prints, which are already professional prints, but I could do even better if given the time.

I have a few more wedding photo booths later this year.  I’m really looking forward to some more great wedding opportunities.

Here’s a bunch of the wedding photos from throughout the day…

This wedding was at Cameron Estate Inn & Restaurant in Mount Joy, Pa.  It was such a nice location for a wedding.  The interior rooms have plenty of natural window light availability.  The wedding ceremony was outside and there’s actually two different locations to hold the event, which is nice to have options.  Lindsey and Andy were great to work with and photographing the entire wedding at one location makes it a lot easier for both me and the wedding couple.

Another wedding that I attended earlier this fall.  It was a nice sunny day, which creates more dynamic range of colors in the photos.  The contrast look really pops.  Kris & Nick were some of the easiest going couples I’ve worked with and very photogenic.  The venues were at 3 different locations which gave some unique photo opportunities.  My wedding photographer assistant was a huge help, as usual.  I generally prefer working with an assistant, as they assist in lighting, grabbing equipment that I leave behind by accident, and getting additional shots that I simply cannot.  This was my last wedding to photograph for the season.  And now I’m wrapping up a few more photography projects before the end of the year.  Wedding photography will continue to be my focus for next year, in addition to high school senior photography.

Harrisburg Photography Award

I just received this exciting piece of news in my email today.  I’m surprised I was even selected.  Is it legit?  I don’t know.  They offered me options to buy a nice plaque to hang on my wall.

Engagement Photography Session Harrisburg Fort Hunter

This couple engagement photography session was fun at Fort Hunter.  I’m photographing their wedding later in the fall in Lancaster.

I was a bit surprised when I arrived to the sound of music and a packed out parking lot.  I didn’t realize their was a music festival taking place.  It worked out great though.  The background music was nice and we did most of the photography further away from the festival.  I can easily adjust my photography to fit just about any location and still avoid getting cars or people in the photos.  This is generally achieved with a longer focal length, which blurs the background to the point where a person or car is so blurry that it becomes unrecognizable.  In fact, most of my sessions use the 70-200mm lens as the primary lens.

Gettysburg PA Wedding Photography

May 5, 2012

The season’s first wedding of 2012.    It was a great location in Gettysburg and the surrounding battle field areas.  An excellent location for wedding photography.  We could not have received a better day for weather.  Slightly overcast with occasional sunshine.  Caryn and Brian were easy to work with and very trusting.  We met a few weeks before the wedding in Gettysburg to review locations and time management.   Prior to that, they booked me without a meetup or even a phone call.  We did everything via email, which is atypical, but if you’re at a far distance, a meetup may not be convenient.

We began at the Baladerry Inn, where everyone got ready and then held the ceremony outside.  Shortly after that, the couple toured the Gettysburg battlefields on a horse drawn carriage.  I followed behind and grabbed several portraits at various scenes.  I’ve never done anything that awesome before.  I’m glad I could photograph this wedding.

The reception was held at the Dobbin House Tavern, a historical place to eat since 1776.

It’s been years since I’ve visited Gettysburg.  So it brought back a few good memories. When I was a kid, my family and friends took several trips there.  Back then, I used film cameras.  Never would I have imagined that I would be a wedding photographer.

Child Photography

Here’s a BEFORE and AFTER photo example of the power of post processing in Lightroom.  I shot this recently and was able to salvage what seems to be a lost photo.  This is my worst shot to date. I was photographing inside and step outside into the sun without adjusting my settings.  My manual setting where obviously quite a bit off.  A little bit of post processing and viola! it’s a nice shining photo.

Engagement Couple Sample Photography

Here’s a recent photo shoot I did outside in the cold December air.  I moved fairly fast with this one – about 30 minutes or so.  It was fun and playful as we randomly selected a kids playset/playground.  I did not plan this location at all, but once I saw it I knew it would be awesome.  We captured a bunch of nice photos despite the cold.  The weather was decent with some sun serving as nice backlighting.

Photographers in Harrisburg PA plus a Wedding Photo Booth

This wedding photography took place in Harrisburg back in early September.  I got there a bit early to the bride’s house to grab some shots of her and my usual wedding photography shots.

Then the limo arrived and we headed over to the church.  It was an interesting wedding with the ceremony in Spanish and a translator to provide the English translation.  It was the groom’s father who translated it, and he was a bit nervous and had some trouble translating it all to English.  My Spanish skills are quite rusty, but I picked up a few words here and there.

Following that, I grabbed a few shots around the church area.  Then rushed over to the reception location to kick off the events of the evening.  It was a good party with lots of enthusiasm.  We even got a wedding photo booth setup for the guests.   Photo Booths are always a big hit.  Guests always enjoy them.  I didn’t include any pics of the photo booth here, might do that later.  But for now check out my photo booth services on my main website.

Harrisburg Wedding Photography Best Photos

This wedding season, I’ve been photographing so many weddings.  As I near the end of the 2011 wedding season, I look back on all the photos I’ve taken, the good the bad, and the average.  There are many worthy wedding photography images excellent for portfolio inclusion, blog posts, Facebook, hanging office prints (I seriously do print some of my favorite photos).

I was reviewing some of my photos the other evening and I came across these photos again.  Her name is Taylor and she’s probably about 5 years old.  All I had to say was her name, give a smile, and she struck a pose for me.  How awesome is that?

Out of all the kids I’ve photographed, especially at the weddings, I’d easily say this girl wins my cute photo award for 2011.
