Photographers in Harrisburg PA plus a Wedding Photo Booth

This wedding photography took place in Harrisburg back in early September.  I got there a bit early to the bride’s house to grab some shots of her and my usual wedding photography shots.

Then the limo arrived and we headed over to the church.  It was an interesting wedding with the ceremony in Spanish and a translator to provide the English translation.  It was the groom’s father who translated it, and he was a bit nervous and had some trouble translating it all to English.  My Spanish skills are quite rusty, but I picked up a few words here and there.

Following that, I grabbed a few shots around the church area.  Then rushed over to the reception location to kick off the events of the evening.  It was a good party with lots of enthusiasm.  We even got a wedding photo booth setup for the guests.   Photo Booths are always a big hit.  Guests always enjoy them.  I didn’t include any pics of the photo booth here, might do that later.  But for now check out my photo booth services on my main website.

The Life of a Wedding Photographer

It comes up a lot. Usually when I’m standing in the buffet line for dinner, or when there’s a slow time during the day when I’m not taking pictures.

“So you’re the photographer?”

“Yessir, I am, and I absolutely love it.”

“Well I don’t doubt it. You’re doing a great job out there. It must be great to work only one day a week!”

And let’s not forget that many wedding photographers don’t do photography full time, because it’s a hard job to support yourself with.  Most have a day job that supports themselves and families, which are generally much more stable.  So they’re doing even more work than usual.

October Snow Interrupts Wedding Photography, Breaks Trees

So before Halloween and before fall even ended…I mean the leaves are still green on some trees…we already received a generous amount of snow.  I just got back from a wedding too!  A white wedding, indeed! (The DJ played the song)  The bride assumed it would be nice weather with the nice fall colors and all.  This affected our wedding photography, but it was an indoor ceremony and reception so we just stayed inside.  No outside photography at this wedding.  It was an older couple (70+), so I don’t blame them.  The groom almost slipped before the ceremony walking down a short snowy hill.

Anyways, I documented this unusual event with some snowy photography.  I even found a snow model as I was walking around.  I really would like to do some more kid photography in the snow.

This wedding event was in Lebanon, PAWe couldn’t get any wedding photography in the snowy outside unfortunately.  It was a simple wedding and short (about 5 hours total) which was nice.  A few of wedding guest couldn’t make it through the storm.

Photographer in Harrisburg PA

This wedding was in Mechanicsburg with the reception just a short drive down a few roads at Visaggio’s.  I thought this wedding was incredibly smooth, at least the wedding photography part turned out nice with some cloudy weather.

We also set up a photo booth at this wedding reception. Guests always seem to like it, especially kids. Guests could wear some fun or goofy prop like one of our hats, masks, etc, step in to get photographed by a real wedding photographer, and pick up their free 4×6 color print right there. A lot of the moms were very pleased with the results because it captures a genuine moment at the joyous wedding occasion.

Photographer in Harrisburg PA and Photo Booth Harrisburg PA

A nice attraction at a wedding reception is a photo booth.  This isn’t your typical traditional photo booth either.  It features a real live professional wedding photographer who helps pose you, takes your photo, and then prints out a 4×6 color print a few minutes later.  The actual set up is fairly simple.  It’s essentially uses portable photography studio equipment with lights, a backdrop, a table or two for the laptop, printer, and to layout all the photo booth prints of the evening.

I’ve participated in several photo booth wedding events and they’re always popular.  Once people see me photographing, they all want a photo.  Props are essential because they add a lot more to the fun.  Kids tend to get addicted and want one pose after the next, parents want one of the entire family, and others just go crazy with the props and do something silly.

If there’s room at your wedding reception, you should definitely consider a photo booth.  It doesn’t require that much space, and it makes the evening a lot more entertaining for your guests.  Some places charge a lot of money to have an on-location photo booth, but my prices are very reasonable.

Harrisburg Wedding Photography – Photographer in Harrisburg PA

Photographer in Harrisburg PA.  Here’s some photography from the latest wedding I attended.  It rained a lot on this Saturday 8/06, but the rain cleared so that we could grab some outside shots of the bridal party.  The ceremony was in the smallest church I’ve ever been in.  I still used my telephoto lens though, to get some up close shots.

This was also the first wedding where there was no contracted DJ playing excessively loud music.  The bride just hooked up an iPod to a sound system and it went from there.  This was a relief as I generally wear earplugs because I do value my hearing as I grow older.
