Docks & Rock Walls: A Father-Son Afternoon

We headed out to Gifford Pinchot State Park for a session that was less about "smiling for the camera" and more about pure exploration. This father-son duo spent the afternoon mastering the climbing wall, trading high-fives, and eventually winding down on the boat docks to watch the water. The golden afternoon light hit the lake just right, but the real highlight was documenting the genuine bond between a dad and his little explorer.

Mastering the Climb

Pinchot Park has some great spots for kids to just be active, and we took full advantage of the rock wall. It gave us the perfect opportunity to capture those focused expressions and the proud high-fives that followed. These are the moments that feel most real - the silly faces and the active play that define what it's like to be a kid.

Dockside Quiet

After all the climbing and running, we made our way down to the boating docks. The stillness of the water provided a nice contrast to the high energy of the playground. Sitting on the edge of the dock, waiting for ships and looking out over the lake, we were able to capture those quieter, more reflective moments that happen when the world slows down for a bit.

"The best family photos aren't manufactured; they're found in the high-fives, the goofy faces, and the simple joy of an afternoon outdoors."
