Invite your family to participate and share in the excitement and news. This couple planned for family to fly in from out of state and visit during the proposal and then celebrate her birthday which happened to be the same day. What a surprise!

If the day is nice, we can also capture photos outside. In the previous photos, captured at Hershey Gardens, it actually rained enough that we made the magic happen in the butterfly garden indoors. And did get a chance to step outside in the misty rain for additional photos. Think of it as a mini engagement session bonus!

In this next surprise proposal, we planned out days in advanced where to be in place for the surprise. We considered rain options, best angles, and how to communicate the day of the surprise, without getting his fiancee aware of the secret. This one turned out well and received compliments of several passerbys on the walnut street bride in Harrisburg and City Island.

We had a few excited passerbys interact with the couple to congratulate them! One girl wanted to take a photo for them to keep on their phone. I know she didn't realize I was the hired photographer in secret with my telephoto off in the distance. Another couple stopped by who witnessed the event to also share some encouraging words.

Then we captured a few nice portraits on and near the bridge closest to City Island Harrisburg. What great moments that are captured in a photo to live on as memory.
